Siriraj Hospital’s Faculty of Medicine has been at the forefront among medical institutes in Thailand since its establishment by King Rama V in 1888. With pride in its history of public health care service for Thais, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital is planning to expand the capacity of the TG-MET Center, which has existed for seven years, to become The Excellence Center in Endoscopic Training and Research in Southeast Asia.
The centre will house state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic technologies as well as well-trained and multidisciplinary specialized personnel while providing patient-centered services that could be highly regarded at the regional level.
1. To provide excellent teaching and training for the resident and fellowship training programs in the fields of multidisciplinary diagnostic endoscopy and endoscopy-assisted surgery with advanced technologies.
2. To perform basic and advanced research in the field of multidisciplinary endoscopic surgery.
3. To develop creative thinking in producing and testing new instruments.
4. To provide excellent multidisciplinary endoscopic surgery for Thai and international patients.
5. To provide opportunities for meaningful educational and cultural exchanges between surgeons and nurses of different surgical specialties who practice laparoscopic and other minimally invasive surgery.
